DESCRIÇÃO 

 

A proposta do Workshop é discutir as principais teorias em Ecologia de Comunidades, avaliando como diferentes combinações de mecanismos e processos criam e mantém as comunidades biológicas. O Workshop contará com: (i) palestras e discussões sobre teorias, desde as que fundamentaram o desenvolvimento conceitual e teórico dos estudos em ecologia de comunidades até as teorias mais recentes, (ii) apresentações de projetos e linhas de pesquisa de diferentes pesquisadores, e (iii) trabalho final para os alunos matriculados na disciplina.

Essa proposta de Workshop foi construída a partir da nossa experiência ao oferecer a disciplina “Ecologia de Comunidades” no Programa de Pós Graduação em Biologia Animal, UNESP/IBILCE que, ao longo de sete edições reuniu um time de docentes colaboradores constituído por pesquisadores jovens, mas de altíssima competência em suas áreas de atuação. Isso possibilitou que a disciplina fosse, a cada edição, atraindo mais alunos tanto do nosso Programa, como também de outros Programas de Pós-graduação (USP, UFSCar, UFMS, UFGO etc), interessados no conteúdo atual e de alto nível, conciliando teorias em ecologia com instrumentação analítica . Portanto, a necessidade de transformá-la em um Workshop foi natural, para que pudêssemos atender a grande demanda de alunos e pesquisadores interessados. Além disso, para a realização desse Workshop, contaremos com a participação de 10 pesquisadoras e 10 pesquisadores, de sete países (Alemanha, Brasil, Canada, Chile, Estados Unidos, França e Reino Unido), oferecendo palestras sobre estudos de ecologia de comunidades e metacomunidades.

DESCRIPTION

The Workshop's proposal is to discuss the main theories in Community Ecology, evaluating how different mechanisms and processes shape and maintain biological communities. The Workshop will consist of: (i) lectures and discussions on theories, from those that supported the conceptual and theoretical development of studies in community ecology to the most recent theories, (ii) presentations of projects and main areas of study of different researches, and (iii) final assignment for students enrolled in the discipline.

This Workshop proposal was built from our experience in offering the discipline “Community Ecology” in the Postgraduate Program in Animal Biology, UNESP / IBILCE which, over seven editions, brought together a team of young researchers, but with high competence in their areas of expertise. This enabled the discipline to attract, in each edition, more students both from our Program, as well as Postgraduate Programs from other institutions (USP, UFSCar, UFMS, UFG etc.), interested in current and high-level content, reconciling theories in ecology with analytical instrumentation. Therefore, the need to transform it into a Workshop was natural, so that we could meet the great demand of interested students and researchers. In addition, for the realization of this Workshop, we will count with the participation of 10 women and 10 men researchers, from seven countries (Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, United Kingdom, and the United States), speaking at the event about studies of community ecology and metacommunity.
